Friday Readers' Forum Members -- old and new!
Please drop by the library on Friday, January 29th during lunch [Mrs. Mitchell's home-baked goodies available, as usual!], to pick up your copy our next shared read Every Visible Thing by Lisa Carey. They were ordered through SAILS and arrived last week. New members are always welcome: we have some extra copies of this very compelling read!
TCAN/Key Club Activities
Providence Ronald McDonald House -- Friday, March 19th:
On Friday, March 19th TCAN/Key Club is providing two sides, a salad, and some dessert, so get those aprons on and do some good! We will also "be on call" in February. It is a short month and the only Friday available was during our winter vacation, but we will help out if needed.  As you know, each night the House provides a hot evening meal for families of hospitalized children.  To provide this service, they seek volunteers [like TCANers and DHSers!] to prepare meals at home and deliver them to the House, or to come to the House and cook in their well-equipped kitchen. Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs.McFee will be organizing/delivering. Contact either of us if you would like to be involved! We will be teaming up to provide a meal for the House once each month! This is such a worthy organization!
Soup Kitchen --Saturday, February 6th  from 9:00 A.M. to 12:30
TCAN is responsible for scheduling at least 4 volunteers this Saturday. Mrs. Mitchell will be supervising. Please email her at lauriem980@aol.com if you can work either shift.
Buzzards Bay Habitat for Humanity visiting the DHS campus -- Tuesday, February 9th @ 2:15
Jane Coleman will be on campus Tuesday, February 9th @ 2:15 in the DHS Library to recruit student, faculty and staff volunteers for BBH4H's current build in Wareham. Applications and waivers are available in the library. See Mrs. Mitchell if you are interested. This is a great organization to hook up with if you want to help your neighbors experience the empowerment that comes with home ownership!
Fundraiser for Haiti: ...all week long in the cafeteria. Get that change and those bills if you can spare it.
