Cookout For Carrie
The annual Cookout for Carrie is this Thursday, May 23rd during all lunch shifts.


Student Tickets: $3.00
Adults: $4.00



Money from student accounts may not be used to purchase tickets.
All proceeds are donated to the Shriner's Hospital.

Notice to Parents For Medication Pick-Up
State policy requires that a parent or a designated adult must pick up your child’s medication or the medication will be discarded.  Therefore, please pick up your medication before 10:30 AM on June 27, 2013.
Common Application Boot Camp
Attention juniors: The guidance department will host a "Common Application Boot Camp" on August 2nd. The Common Application is an online college application accepted by more than 400 colleges and universities. Additional information will be forthcoming.
Job Fair
VF Outlet will be holding a job fair on Thursday, May 30th from 9 a.m-7:00p.m, and Friday May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interviews will be conducted on site. Full and part time positions are available. Students can also apply online at www.vfoutlet.net/careers.
Go Big Green 5K
Do you like to run? The Go Big Green 5K roadrace is being held on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 10:00 here at DHS. The race is sponsored by the Class of 2014 with the help of the DHS track team. Sign up to run or walk at the link posted below. There will be t-shirts for the first 50 registrants and awards for top runners. Help support the DHS community and GO BIG GREEN!
Fall 2013 Cheerleading Information
The DHS Cheer team will hold tryouts for the fall season from May 28- May 31. The tryouts will be held in the DHS Gymnasium from 6-8pm.

Registration is now open for Fall 2013 Cheerleading. Access the "Online Registration" on the DHS website by clicking on "Athletics". 

The online registration must be completed and a valid physical exam must be on file with the school nurse before you can tryout.

Progress Report Distribution
Senior Progress Reports will be distributed on Monday, May 13th. 

Underclassmen Progress Reports will be distributed on
Tuesday, May 28th.  
DRIVER'S ED CLASSES

The next Driver’s Ed. Class will begin on Monday, April 29th and run through Friday, May 10th.  Students who have been assigned to this class have been notified through their SCHOOL EMAIL.  Please check your email as soon as possible to find out if you are in this class.

A list of students (by ID#’s) will also be posted in the window of Mrs. Nune’s office and Mrs. Vasconcelos’s office.  Please check one of these locations for your ID#.  Class will be held from 2:05pm to 5:00pm in Room A27.  If you are assigned to this class, please be on time.


ELECTIONS
If you are interested in running for class office, student council, or school council, pick up required forms from Ms. Vicente in C09 beginning Monday, April 22nd. The last day to pick up forms is Friday, April 26th. The deadline for submission is Thursday, May 2nd. Forms can be picked up before or after school, or during nutrition break. Elections will be held May 22nd.

Reminders for Testing: 

1. It is important for students to get to school on time for all testing days.  Testing will begin right at 7:30am. 
2. There will be no nutrition break during testing.  Please tell your students to eat a nutritious breakfast and pack some healthy snacks to eat during testing breaks. 
3. Students will be able to read a novel when they complete their testing.  Therefore, they should pack something to read after they have finished testing.

Course Selection for 2013-2014
This year all Dartmouth High School students will be selecting their courses for next year online utilizing their Aspen accounts. Students have been given a handout with directions on how to select courses. For your convenience , we are providing a link to a copy of the directions. College Acceptance Letters
Seniors are reminded to bring a copy of their college acceptance letters to the guidance office so that they may be displayed on the bulletin boards outside of the LMC.
Driver's Education
Classroom instruction for Driver's Ed. is offered at Dartmouth High School for any student who will be 16 years old before the end of the school year. This instruction is provided by Martin Auto School, 487 Belleville Ave, New Bedford, at no charge to our students. It does not include road lessons, which may be taken with the driving school of your choice. Students who complete and pass the course will be issued a completion certificate.

Classes are held immediately after school from 2:05-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday for two consecutive weeks. Six or seven sessions are held throughout the school year. Approximately 30 students are assigned to each session.

Students who are interested in taking Driver's Ed. should sign up in the Main Office. If you have questions you can contact Mrs. Nunes in the Main Office or by email at yvettenunes@dartmouthschools.org.
