Dartmouth High School Announcements
Summer Reading
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

The DHS English department is excited to announce its school-wide summer reading that offers students a lot of freedom in their choices while also encouraging close reading with a focus on diction (word choice). In the attached document, you will find information, samples, and resources to guide book selection, active reading, and writing preparation.

All students, regardless of which semester they have English next year, will complete the related writing assignment on Wednesday, September 13. The only exceptions are students going into AP Language & Composition or AP Literature & Composition. Those students should have picked up their course-specific summer assignments already, but extra copies will be available in the LMC.

We wish everyone a sunny, safe summer, and we hope you get to spend some quality time with some quality books.

Happy reading,

The DHS English Department
