The Business and Information Technologies Department offers a variety of courses to meet the needs, desires, and abilities of every student attending Dartmouth High School. Each course is designed and updated on a regular basis to meet current trends and to prepare students for the future. Students enrolled in a Business and Information Technologies course have the opportunity to:
  • Use technology to find, organize, and communicate information; and
  • Meet the demands of the changing employment market by demonstrating skills and knowledge in career preparation
All courses have been designed to contribute to the occupational education of all students, regardless of their educational goals. Students may select courses for personal use, career exploration, or post-secondary education.
Students desiring to pursue further education in computer science or accounting should follow the programming, accounting, or technology sequence. Students expecting to enter the business field upon graduation should follow a sequence of courses that will prepare them in the field of their choice--accounting, computer applications, and entrepreneurship.

All courses will make use of the computers located in the labs in the Business and Information Technologies Department. Students and parents are encouraged to speak to any Business and Information Technologies Department staff member to assist in the decision-making process or for further clarification of any course.
